This is a BONUS episode in our series on Melodies of Hope: Hymns From Advent and Christmastide. We’ve been talking about favorite old hymns for the season, but we also have worship leaders and pastors writing new music for Advent, Christmas, and beyond, and we wanted to highlight a song that emerged last year at Cornerstone Tulsa: “Come Lord Jesus,” co-written by pastor Jon Odom, Jonathan Van Rissengham, and worship leader Ben Kilgore, who is our guest on today’s episode.
Ben is married to Noelle, and they lead worship together every weekend at Cornerstone Tulsa. They have three adopted children. Ben has been leading worship for 25 years, and he learned to lead worship and from his late father John. He enjoys crafting meals and feeding his family and friends, and probably would have gone to culinary school to become a chef if he didn’t have any musical talent.
